About
Franklyn Errol King is a distinguished Board Member of the Pastoralist Development Agenda, bringing over 40 years of professional experience as a business management consultant and practitioner. His extensive expertise spans agro-enterprise development, industrial business enterprise development, construction project management, business/investment analysis, and industrial minerals. More recently, he has been engaged in Fibre to the Home business planning and rollout.
Mr. King serves as the Executive Chairman of Panafrican Mineral Resources Limited, a position he has held since January 2012. The company engages in developing Kenya’s mineral resources and trading in industrial minerals, including granite and marble. Additionally, it operates a gemstones division trading in precious and semi-precious stones, bringing valuable experience in natural resource management and economic development.
Academically, Mr. King holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading, which he completed in 1979. During his studies, he was actively involved in student leadership, serving as President of the African Students Union—a welfare lobby group for African students under the umbrella of the National Union of Students. This combination of business acumen, resource management expertise, and agricultural economics knowledge makes him a valuable asset to PDA’s mission of fostering sustainable development in pastoralist communities.
