Our Primary Health Support program recognizes that health is the foundation of a productive and resilient community. We work to overcome the barriers of distance and marginalization by bringing critical healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of pastoralist families. Through mobile outreach, community health worker networks, and health education, we strive to improve health outcomes and ensure that every community member has the knowledge and access needed for a healthy life.
Our Integrated Approach:
We create a decentralized network of care and prevention:
-
Mobile Health Outreach: Organizing regular mobile clinic camps in remote settlements to provide maternal and child health services, immunizations, treatment for common illnesses, and health screenings.
-
Community Health System Strengthening: Training and equipping Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) from within the communities to act as first-line health educators, provide basic care, and refer serious cases to facilities.
-
Preventive Health Promotion: Conducting community-wide education campaigns on nutrition, family planning, disease prevention (e.g., malaria, HIV/AIDS), and the vital link between clean WASH practices and good health.
Impact & Alignment:
A healthy population is essential for all development goals. This program enables children to benefit from Education, allows adults to engage fully in Agro-Value Chain work, and reduces the economic burden of disease on households. It is a core component of human dignity and a prerequisite for communities to fully participate in their own development journey.
