Transforming Pastoralist Lives Through Empowerment, Equity, and Sustainability

our story

From Community Change to a National Agenda

The Pastoralist Development Agenda (PDA) is a registered Kenyan NGO committed to uplifting pastoralist communities in arid and semi-arid regions.

Originally founded as the Centre for Community Change (CCC) in 2010 in Isiolo County, our organization began with a small but passionate team driven by justice, equity, and empowerment. CCC focused on holistic community development, addressing livelihoods, education, and peace-building at the grassroots level.

Over time, fueled by successful partnerships and transformative projects, CCC evolved into PDA — an organization with a broader mandate, expanded reach, and strengthened resolve to serve marginalized pastoralists across nine counties: Isiolo, Laikipia, Samburu, Meru, Marsabit, Garisa, Baringo, Turkana, and West Pokot.
